ABOUT ME

I’m Erik Carmona, a professional with more than a decade of experience in Business Intelligence, Finance, and Collections.

My work has spanned every layer of the analytics ecosystem:

Data Foundations

I started by consolidating data scattered across ERPs, CRMs, legacy systems, and spreadsheets, structuring, cleaning, and centralizing information so organizations could finally trust their numbers.

Business Intelligence

From there, my work evolved into:

  • designing data models
  • building DWH structures
  • creating dynamic dashboards
  • defining and aligning KPIs across regions
  • supporting leadership with timely, relevant insights
Decision-Making & Applied Analytics

As reporting tools became more accessible, I realized the real frontier wasn’t dashboards, it was analytics with predictive value.

This led me to focus on:

  • machine learning
  • forecasting
  • clustering and segmentation
  • pattern detection
  • credit and collections analytics
  • risk and behavioral models
  • applying ML to real operational processes

Given my experience over the past years, I’ve been deeply immersed in financial data, particularly within the collections and AR landscape. This has given me a strong understanding of disputes, cash behavior, payment patterns, and the operational challenges behind them. Because of that background, many of the advanced analytics and machine-learning models you’ll find here are grounded in real financial scenarios, especially collections. However, the methods and frameworks I use are broadly applicable and can be adapted to areas like manufacturing, sales, supply chain, and other data-driven environments.

WHY I CREATED CARMONEX

Carmonex is where I document what I’ve learned, from foundational BI to advanced modeling.
It reflects my belief that good analytics must be:

  • practical
  • explainable
  • connected to real decisions
  • built on strong data foundations

This blog is my way of sharing the tools, models, and mental frameworks that shape modern analytics.
